Stress and anxiety are often cited as the main mental affliction of the 21st century. In order to try and cope with stress many people seek relief in the form of alcohol and drugs. The result is that suffering and problems only increase. We can learn to successfully avoid stress and anxiety by changing our mental habits and attitudes. This is because stress is a feeling and feelings are types of mind. Therefore, the solution to stress is developing positive and wholesome minds that function to prevent stress from arising.
