Minds like anxiety, fear, and worry have no beneficial purpose. They tend to paralyses us and make solving problems much more difficult. This is because our wisdom and rational thinking are absent or reduced. Unfortunately, for some the holiday season gives rise to anxiety and stress. This does not have to happen. If we take the time to address and confront our concerns with wisdom we can abandon these bad mental habits and live of more peaceful and relaxed life. How wonderful!

Buddha identified ‘eight worldly concerns’ that often control and dominate our life. This control and domination gives rise to much unnecessary and unwanted problems and misery.  These worldly concerns seem important, but indulging in them produces only problems and does not eliminate them. Learn the opposite virtuous minds that directly oppose impure worldly minds. In this way we can live a life of contentment and inner peace.
